the motions i made were seconded by sperber.  then harvey moved to amend
them.  I, as the maker, and mike, as the second, have both chosen not to
accept harvey's amendment as a friendly amendment, i.e. a change to the
motion voluntarily.  therefore we can vote to force that amendment onto the
motion.  it will only require a simple majority to am end the motion,
although the creation of the board position will require a 2/3 to pass.  we
have had over 72 hours of  discussion.  let us now vote on amending the
motion.  a "yes" vote amends the motion to 2010.  a "no" vote keeps it at
2009.  voting period runs until 6pm 10/26.

Since Sperber, as the second of the original motion, has changed his
position and now agrees on the amendment, I can accept it as a "friendly"
amendment and amend the motion without a vote.
