Sent: Monday, August 03, 2009 2:10 PM Subject: ****RESULTS: on Steve's Motion ***
Gentlemen,
I vote "Yes", so Steve's motion on rejecting the memberships ("The 50") as provided by Andrew has passed. Yes: Steve, Chuck, Willard, Paul, Kevin, Jon, Renier, and Harvey No: None Abstain: Gary Not Voting: Michael
Required to pass was 3/4 majority with at least 7 voting, so with 8 yes votes and 0 no votes, the motion passes. I will instruct the Election Master of this, so that none of "The 50" ballots are counted.
Also, if Mr. Scherman asks for a refund and can submit proof that he actually paid for these memberships, he will be reimbursed.

Gentlemen,
It is time to vote on this motion (in red below)
According to our By-laws, there needs to be a 3/4 majority vote to pass this motion which only will apply to "the 50" group of memberships recently sent in by Mr. Scherman.
Article III - Membership Section 1. The Board of Directors may by (3/4) three-fourths vote of all its members, refuse to grant membership or may expel any person from membership.
PLEASE VOTE.
Harvey
I make a motion to refuse memberships to people paid for by Andrew Scherman. Mr. Scherman has continually tried to manipulate the election procedures of the FCA. With the purchase of these memberships he is now trying to buy the elections. The FCA is an orginization for chess players! Allowing someone to use non chess players to become members just to control the organization is at the least unethical. |
